KANSO started with a problem that probably sounds familiar.
A small bedroom in Southampton, England. A pregnant wife with no drawer space for her makeup and hair tools. A flat wardrobe with a blank side panel that wasn't doing anything. One IKEA SKADIS pegboard, four screws, and twenty minutes later — everything had a place. The wardrobe side became the most organised corner of the flat. It was one of those simple things that quietly changes how a space feels.
That moment stuck.
A few years later, the same idea came up again — this time in a modern kitchen being designed from scratch. A 2-foot by 7-foot pull-out pegboard panel built into the kitchen design, housing pots, pans, and utensils that used to crowd every drawer and shelf. The difference was immediate. Things stopped being buried and started being visible, reachable, and — unexpectedly — beautiful. A natural place for them to be.
That's when it became clear that pegboards aren't a storage hack. They're a different way of thinking about space.
KANSO exists to bring that thinking to more spaces and more people. We make pegboards that are designed to be genuinely good — better materials, cleaner lines, four sizes that fit real rooms rather than one size that sort of fits all of them. They work with the IKEA SKADIS accessories you may already own, which means switching to KANSO doesn't mean starting over.
The name comes from the Japanese concept of simplicity — removing what isn't needed so what remains can shine. That's the whole idea. A wall that works. A space that breathes.
We're just getting started. HARI (our pegboard line) is the first product. SOKO (thoughtfully designed drawer organisers) is coming next. There's a lot more to come — built for kitchens, offices, studios, workshops, and rooms of every kind.
We believe good organisation isn't a luxury. It's the difference between a space that drains you and one that gives you energy. That's worth making beautifully.
